Fragile Liaisons - Vojtěch Hrubant & Alžběta Baštová (Liza Basta) At first glance, the work of Alžběta Baštová and Vojtěch Hrubant appears to be contradictory - her expressive painting, full of emotion and symbolism, contrasts with his structured sculptural and graphic experiments, oscillating between order and abstraction. Yet there is a strong tension between them - a dialogue between the visible and the hidden, spontaneous gesture and precise form. Both artists address the question of identity in different ways. Bastova finds it in shifting emotions and raw gestures, while Hrubant focuses on material, archetypal symbols and minimalist reduction.
The exhibition Fragile Liaisons presents their creative dialogue through an architectural object that serves as a symbolic space for collecting and selecting inspirations. This space reflects the invisible connections between their work, where found objects take on new meanings and reflect existential questions about the limits of knowledge and perception. Their fragile relationship is thus not just a meeting of two artists, but a mapping of the invisible connections between their work. It shows that art is linked not only by formal similarity, but above all by a shared tension between the concrete and the indeterminate.
