Kristýna Matalová: All of Us

We change each and every moment. Our physical existence consists of countless brief moments that sometimes meet our personal expectations and other times less so. Kristýna Matalová works with the principle of a certain mirroring, where the viewer takes the role of a third person who sees Kristýna in the moments that the artist places in situations across the timeline and her own imagination. She stylizes herself into various, often dark, spectacular positions, roles and situations. Each moment-image is an authentic and unmistakable code, or rather an experience set in linear flow of time. Each image is a thoughtful capture of one specific being. A human being, a woman, Kristýna.
