A ritual instrument that leads to the safety of an alternative reality through fascinating optical sensations, helping to become aware of the present moment. A soothing counterbalance to the burdensome aspects of life's spectrum. A word that resonates with beauty and insight. All this is the kaleidoscope. Klaudia Hlavatá's new exhibition explores the theme of dissociation, a defence mechanism that even children use to separate themselves from unpleasant thoughts. Through her unique metacollages with spatial effects, which for the first time include animation, the artist not only analyses the downside of everyday life, but above all highlights the power that can overcome difficult situations.
