Alžběta Baštová is a painter without academic education, a graduate of the Václav Hollar Secondary School of Art. Her work is based on a deep personal experience and introspection, emphasizing the inspiration of her beloved opera and classical art. The works often reflect mental states and inner struggles. Precisely because she has no formal artistic training, her works carry an extraordinary expressive power and authenticity.
